The Cultural Rot: When Shoplifting Becomes a Viral Anthem
A recent viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) perfectly captures a deeply frustrating reality about the modern glorification of retail theft. In the footage, a woman brazenly records herself stealing, turning a criminal act into a social media performance. It is a stark reminder of how certain destructive behaviors are not just tolerated, but actively celebrated within specific subcultures.
This Black woman is actively committing a crime, recording herself, and has the song by Yung Miami—"Spend Dat"—playing in the background as she stuffs merchandise on her person and inside of the black tote bag she has with her.
This is the degeneracy of the Black community being displayed and promoted by the song of Yung Miami, with lyrics openly declaring:
"Boostin' bhes, where y'all at? (Where y'all at?) / Stuffin' that s* in y'all bag / Just to flip it, pop some tags (Hustlers) / Girl, go in that Goyard bag."*
This is exactly what we promote in the Black community, and we champion this behavior. The Black nasty hood rats are like, "Yaaasss bh!" and "DO YOUR BIG ONE BH!" It is horrible behavior, and it is destroying us from the inside out.
Having worked the floors and managed loss prevention at major retailers, I know exactly how these situations unfold. From a professional security standpoint, this is an incredibly easy case. I would call the police and send the video directly to them without a second of hesitation.
You know what? I am considered a "career snitch" based on my job by uneducated Black people. But I will look forward to finding out who this woman is and be sure to bring this to local police to get this woman locked up. Accountability is the only way this stops.
The true tragedy here goes far beyond a few stolen items flipped for quick cash. The real cost is the collateral damage caused to everyday, law-abiding citizens who are forced to carry the weight of these viral spectacles.
This is despicable and deeply frustrating. When a regular Black American that doesn't commit crimes simply tries to live their life, they will be looked at differently because of the people that look just like me upon my skin color.
Until we stop championing the criminals and start holding them accountable, nothing will ever change.
