The Predator in the White Coat: Detroit Doctor Pleads Guilty in Massive FBI Exploitation Sting

Lincoln Erickson

"Love being a pedo" DISGUSTING!

A shocking federal investigation has shattered the trust of the Detroit medical community. Lincoln Erickson, a 32-year-old former medical doctor from Farmington Hills, Michigan, has officially pleaded guilty to federal child exploitation charges.

His arrest exposes a horrifying double life: a respected medical professional by day, and an active participant in a multi-state network of predators by night.

A Respected Professional Facade

Prior to his arrest, Erickson appeared to be a rising star in the local medical field. A graduate of Wayne State University, he was working as a physical rehabilitation doctor at the Detroit Medical Center's (DMC) Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.

Erickson was entrusted with patient care and even co-authored academic research. In 2024, his name was listed on a study published through the Wayne State Digital Commons regarding treatments for spinal cord injury patients. However, following his arrest in December 2025, he was immediately terminated from the joint WSU-DMC program.

The Toledo Sting That Brought Them Down

Erickson’s downfall did not begin in Detroit, but rather in Toledo, Ohio, through an unrelated FBI undercover operation.

In March 2025, federal agents arrested a man named Brett Tooman. Tooman had traveled to Toledo believing he was meeting a parent who would allow him to abuse a 7-year-old girl and a 6-month-old baby—who were, in reality, undercover federal agents.

When investigators seized and searched Tooman's digital devices, they uncovered a sprawling, multi-state network of men sharing illicit material and discussing plans to exploit children. This digital trail led federal agents to several prominent Metro Detroit professionals, including immigration attorney Joshua Ronnebaum and licensed psychotherapist Jeremy Tacon.

Conversations discovered on Ronnebaum's phone ultimately provided the FBI with a direct link to Lincoln Erickson. Agents moved swiftly, arresting Erickson on December 10, 2025, right in the parking lot of the Detroit hospital where he worked.

Disturbing Digital Evidence

The details outlined in federal criminal complaints reveal a deeply disturbed individual. Upon searching Erickson's phone, agents discovered a cache of illicit media, including explicit videos of minors and AI-generated exploitation material.

The text messages and Telegram chats recovered by the FBI highlighted a casual, horrific disregard for children. According to court records, Erickson's communications included:

  • Direct Admissions: Text messages where Erickson explicitly stated, "Love being a pedo," and told another user, "Bro, I love other pedophiles."

  • Grooming Fantasies: Erickson detailed a disturbing fantasy to another man about entering a relationship, raising a child together, and specifically grooming and exploiting that child from infancy into adulthood.

  • Overseas Exploitation Plans: Discussions with Ronnebaum regarding plans to travel to Thailand for the specific purpose of exploiting minors.

  • Real-World Threats: Erickson stated in messages that he believed in starting abuse "young," claimed he previously knew a father who allowed him access to a 3-year-old, and attempted to convince another individual to allow him to travel to their home to bathe their children.

A History of Violence and the Final Verdict

Erickson’s dark side was not entirely hidden from the justice system. At the time the FBI arrested him, he was already on probation stemming from a 2024 domestic violence case. During federal court hearings, prosecutors made sure to highlight this criminal history, pointing to a established pattern of threatening behavior.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the facade completely crumbled when Lincoln Erickson pleaded guilty to the federal charge of receipt of child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. did not mince words regarding the case: "This pervert was lurking among our trusted medical professionals. At the same time, he was feeding his disgusting appetites and plotting to abuse little children. Thankfully, the FBI caught him when they did."

Erickson has remained in federal custody without bond since his arrest. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 15, 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison, a maximum of 20 years, fines up to $250,000, and will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

For parents and communities, this case serves as a chilling reminder: predators do not always lurk in the shadows. Sometimes, they wear white coats.
